Ontology of Applied Arts TAO
The Ontology of Applied Arts (TAO) is being built by combining the concepts of the Design Glossary (ca. 2 500), maintained by the Kuopio Academy of Design, with The Finnish General Upper Ontology YSO. Also the concepts of the Ontology for Museum Domain are combined to the above mentioned ontology. The aim is to give detailed and uniform concept descriptions by using the basic structure of The Finnish General Upper Ontology YSO.
TAO ontology is created as a part of the FinnONTO project.

Taideteollisuusalan ontologia (TAO)
Taideteollisuusalan ontologia (TAO) muodostetaan yhdistämällä Kuopion Muotoiluakatemian kirjastossa ylläpidettävän Muotoilun ja viestinnän asiasanaston käsitteet (n. 2 500) Yleiseen suomalaiseen ontologiaan (YSO). Samalla tähän kokonaisuuteen yhdistetään myös Museoalan ontologian (MAO) käsitteistö. Tavoitteena on ontologian avulla tarkentaa ja yhtenäistää käsitetietoja ja niiden esittämistä hyödyntämällä YSOn perusrakennetta.
TAO-ontologian kehitystyö on osa Suomalaiset semanttisen webin ontologiat -projektia.
